About the app
Storywright writes short stories with artificial intelligence. Pick a genre and a year, add a premise or tap Surprise me, and in about half a minute you get a story with a cover. Tap any paragraph to rewrite it with AI and undo if you prefer the previous version. Keep stories in your library, share them with selected people or publish them to the weekly chart where readers vote with likes.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to create an account?
No. The app creates an anonymous account on first launch, tied to a random identifier generated on your device. You only choose a nickname, and you can change it in Profile.
Will my stories survive reinstalling the app or switching phones?
Not at the moment. The anonymous account is bound to the installation on your device. If you delete the app or move to a new iPhone, the app cannot recognise your previous account and your stories will not appear in the new installation. If you need the text of your stories, copy it from the editor before reinstalling, or contact us.
How do I delete a story?
Open Library, swipe the story to the left and tap Delete. This removes it from your device and from our server, including its cover.
How do I delete my account and all my data?
Email [email protected] with the subject "Delete my Storywright account", ideally from the device where you use the app, and mention your nickname. We delete all your stories, covers, likes and usage data within 14 days and confirm by email. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Who can see my stories?
New stories are private. In the editor, tap the visibility button to share a story with selected people (search them by nickname) or to publish it. Published stories appear in the weekly chart for everyone, together with your nickname. You can unpublish a story at any time, but each story can be published only once.
How does the weekly chart work?
The chart resets every Monday at 00:00 UTC. Stories are ranked by likes, with newer stories getting a small boost so that fresh publications have a chance. The top three stories of each past week are kept in the Past weeks tab.
Why did generation stop with a "daily limit" message?
To keep the service free and available to everyone, there is a daily limit on story generations, paragraph edits and cover regenerations. The limit resets at midnight UTC.
Generation failed or takes too long
Generation usually takes 10–40 seconds and needs an internet connection. If it fails, check your connection and try again. If the problem persists, send us the approximate time of the attempt so that we can check the server logs.
The story contains something wrong or inappropriate
Stories are produced by AI models and may be inaccurate or unexpected. You can rewrite any paragraph with the AI editor or delete the story. If you find inappropriate content published by another user, report it as described below.
How do I report a story in the chart?
Email [email protected] with the story title and the author's nickname. We review reports within 24 hours and remove content that violates our Terms of Use.
Which languages does the app support?
The interface is available in English, Polish and Russian. You can switch the language and the light or dark theme in Profile without restarting the app. Stories are generated in the interface language.
Which AI models are used?
Story text is generated by large language models from Anthropic or models routed through OpenRouter; covers are generated by OpenAI image models. Only the text needed for the request is sent to these providers; see the Privacy Policy.
Is the app free? Are there ads?
Yes, the app is free. There are no ads, in-app purchases or subscriptions.
