Terms of Use
These Terms of Use (the "Terms") govern your use of the Storywright app for iOS and the related service at storywrightaiapp.com (together, the "Service"). The Service is operated by an individual developer based in Poland (the "Operator", "we", "us"). By installing or using the app you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
Storywright generates short stories and cover images with artificial intelligence based on the genre, year and premise you provide. You can edit paragraphs with AI, keep stories in your library, share them with selected users or publish them to a weekly public chart where users can like them. The Service is currently provided free of charge. There are no in-app purchases, subscriptions or advertising.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 17 years old to use the Service. By using it you confirm that you meet this requirement. The Service is not directed at children.
3. Account
The app creates an anonymous account tied to a random identifier generated on your device; no registration, email or password is required. You are responsible for the device you use. If you delete the app or move to a new device, the app will not be able to recognise your previous account and your server-side stories will no longer be reachable from the new installation. 4. AI-generated content
Stories and covers are produced by automated AI models. They may be inaccurate, incomplete, repetitive or contain content you did not expect. Generated content is not reviewed by a human before it is shown to you. Any resemblance to real persons, events or works is unintended. You are responsible for reviewing content before you publish or share it.
5. Your content
You keep ownership of the premises, instructions and nicknames you enter and, to the extent permitted by law, of the stories generated for you. You grant the Operator a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, reproduce, display and transmit your content as needed to operate the Service: for example, to generate and edit stories, keep them in your library, show shared stories to the people you chose and show published stories to all users in the chart. This licence ends when you delete the content, except for copies that are already part of the chart archive for a completed week, which are kept for display of past winners unless you ask us to remove them.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to create, publish or share content that:
- is illegal, defamatory, threatening, harassing or hateful, or that incites violence or discrimination;
- is sexually explicit or involves minors in any sexual context;
- infringes copyrights, trademarks, privacy or other rights of third parties;
- contains personal data of other people without their consent;
- impersonates another person or misrepresents the origin of content;
- contains spam, advertising or malicious links.
You also agree not to interfere with the Service, bypass daily limits, manipulate likes or rankings, scrape content, reverse engineer the app or access the server other than through the app.
7. Public chart, moderation and reporting
Publishing a story makes it visible to all users together with your nickname. Each story can be published once; you can unpublish it at any time. Ranking in the weekly chart is based on likes and publication time. The week runs from Monday 00:00 to Sunday 23:59 UTC.
If you see content that violates these Terms, report it by emailing [email protected] with the story title and author nickname. We review reports within 24 hours and remove content that violates these Terms. We may unpublish or delete content, reset nicknames and suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms, with or without notice.
8. Fair use limits
To keep the Service available to everyone, the number of story generations, paragraph edits and cover regenerations per day is limited. Current limits are shown by the app when they are reached. We may change the limits at any time.
9. Availability and changes
The Service is provided in an early stage to test interest. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of it, including the public chart, at any time. We will try to give reasonable notice of discontinuation in the app or on storywrightaiapp.com so that you can export the text of your stories.
10. Intellectual property
The app, its design, name, icon and software are owned by the Operator or its licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to them except the right to use the app on your iOS device in accordance with these Terms and Apple's standard End User License Agreement.
11. Third-party services
The Service uses third-party AI providers to generate text and images. Their availability and output are outside our control. The app is distributed through the Apple App Store; Apple is not a party to these Terms and has no obligation to provide support for the app.
12. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent permitted by law, we make no warranties regarding its availability, accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose or the quality of generated content.
13. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, the Operator is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, loss of data, or losses arising from AI-generated content or from content published by other users. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including the mandatory consumer protection rights you have under Polish and European Union law.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Poland. If you are a consumer, you also benefit from the mandatory provisions of the law of the country in which you live. Disputes may be brought before the competent courts of Poland or, for consumers, the courts of your place of residence. Consumers in the EU may also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. 15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. The effective date at the top shows the latest version. If a change is material, we will announce it in the app or on this page before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after the change means you accept the updated Terms.
